Business Management Specialist

The UCO Business Management Specialist programme is intended to familiarise you with the various elements that make a successful and effective small business manager.

Upon completion of this programme, you will be able to understand and apply the concepts involved in managing a business, evaluate the market place and identify business opportunities and generate and implement a successful business plan. Basic computer skills are also taught in this programme.

Who should attend this course?
This Skills Development Programme is intended for:

Small Business Managers who would like to expand their knowledge in the foundations a business.
Acquire computer skills and skills to communicate effectively.

Future Possible Career Opportunities:

Small Business Entrepreneur.
Management position in any business.

Admission Requirements
None.

Duration
The total number of Credits for this Qualification is 100. This is equivalent to 1000 Notional hours that need to be spent on this Qualification. This includes contact time, structured learning, workplace learning and self study (1 credit = 10 notional hours). More but not less time can be spent on this Qualification.

After successfully completing this Skills Development Programme, the Learner can follow the following Developmental Learning Pathway.

Human Resource Officer Skills Development Programme.
- To gain more knowledge and experience on Human Resource issues.

Marketer Skills Development Programme.
- To be able to better market your own business.

Registration and Accreditation
UCO is provisionally accredited by Umalusi, Council for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education and Training. All unit standard based courses are quality assured by one of the following Seta’s: MICT SETA, ETDP SETA or SERVICES SETA. Unit standard based courses will be followed by a SAQA Aligned Unit Standard ID number.
٭ Learners must be aware that Universal College also offers a few Provider Programs that are not unit standard aligned. The courses are quality assured by the Provider.
