This Skills Development Programme is intended for:

  • Learners pursuing a career in the computer industry, especially the field of System Support.
  • Learners with self discipline and practical skills.

What careers can you pursue with this Qualification?

  • Computer Technician.
  • Network Administrators.
  • Computer Shop owner.
  • System Analysis.

Admission Requirements

  • No formal requirement.
  • Exposure to computing and mathematics are an advantage.
  • Foundational skills in English.

Duration
The duration of this course depends on the learner’s abilities and class attendance.  An average duration of 18 months is suggested.

After completing this Skills Development Programme, learners might continue with any of the following programmes:

  • Small Business Entrepreneur CLP.

Registration and Accreditation
This Skills Development Programme is an industry aligned programme and is not registered on the NQF, however it is according to the curriculum for the International CompTIA A+ and N+ Certification. Students enrolling for this programme must understand that this programme is not credit bearing, and therefore does not lead to any registered qualification on the NQF. In UCO’s application for accreditation with Umalusi, policies and procedures in regards to assessment of this qualification were provided. Quality is ensured by our registration with The Computing and Technology Industry Association (CompTIA).
